Upgrade Cost[edit]
For tools, weapons and armors, the cost to upgrade to tier 1 varies depending on the item. Usually, early game items requires more Upgrade Shard than mid-game items to catch up. For tier 2 to 10, the cost stay consistent (see the tables below).
Gateway Tablet[edit]
Upgrading a Gateway Tablet increases its tier, keeps its type (Hunt or Extraction), and changes its modifiers and rewards.

Weapon[edit]
Unlike tools, upgrading Weapons requires one specific type of tier 1 and tier 2 Essence, depending on the weapons. For instance, the Crystallized Skull requires 30 Cryo Essence and 30 Blood Essence to reach tier 10. Upgrade cost still follows the same pattern.
